Low-sodium Home-made bread crumbs

I've been avoiding making anything that requires bread crumbs because I couldn't find anyplace that should any such thing.  I finally decided to figure out how to make them myself.

INGREDIANTS
Low sodium bread (either the lowest sodium kind you can find at the grocery store, or bake some yourself from one of the low-sodium cookbooks)

DIRECTIONS
Place slices of bread on an ungreased baking sheet.  Bake in a 300 degree F oven for 10 to 15 minutes until bread is dried.  Let bread cool.  Break bread into chunks and process in a food processor until they are the desired size.

You can use right away, or store in the freezer in a freezer bag until you are ready to use.

NUTRITION
The same as whatever kind of bread you used.

  2. To make italian bread crumbs, for every cup of bread crumbs mix in:
    1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
    2 tablespoons dried parsley flakes
    2 tablespoons italian seasonings
    2 tablespoons garlic powder
